Keogh Plan :- Tax deferred plan aimed at the self employed for retirement benefits similar to that afforded in an IRA, or an individual retirement account. The idea is that high taxed income at today's rate will be subject to less tax at the lower rate that will apply to the earner during retirement. This is also an inducement to savings.


Kickback :- An agreement, illegal in nature, where part of the purchase price or sum received is returned "under the table," so to speak. A kickback may be exacted by threat, coercion, or bribery.


Kickout Clause :- An agreement, or clause contained in an agreement, that allows a party to end or modify their end of the contract if a specified event occurs or does not occur.


Kidnapping :- Forcible abduction or stealing of another person. At common law, there was a requirement that the person kidnapped had to be taken to another country.


Kin :- Those to whom one is related by blood, marriage, or adoption.



Kindred :- A relationship, usually be blood, between persons.


Kleptomania :- The uncontrollable urge to steal, even without an economic motive.


Knock and Announce :- Entry by an officer into a dwelling, on probable cause, after knocking and announcing his or her indention to do so.


Knock Off :- An unauthorized copy of something.


Knowingly :- Acting with intelligence, knowledge, awareness of the consequences, and consciously. Knowingly is a mental state relevant in many crimes.
